Personally i don't customize most of my weapons on my characters, this isn't because they're "leet skinz", its because i like to use my weapons across my characters and i don't see limiting that weapons use for +20% damage in pve a decent trade off for the inability to resell/use on other characters.
Like others have said, for pve, a few extra damage points doesnt make that much of a difference (excluding hammers and scythes).
I do however have a couple customized greens on my ele since i use it for pvp occasionally, however most of the time if i pvp i use a pvp char so its auto customized anyway.

Well, I see many people are saying they don't want to ruin the re-sale value on high-end items. What I do: I find a skin I really enjoy, make myself enough money to not have to sell anything or be left poor to get it, Then I go and buy it, *customize it* and life moves on. As I never will want to sell it and can always make the money back, there is nothing but benefit that I gain from customizing it.
Example:
And a reminder- I'm not referring to caster weapons of any kind.

I customize all my martial weapons and find not excuse for people that don't customize it.
If you are planning to sell a weapon then keep it in storage and use a customized weapons.
Now I have to admit that I wish I could uncustomize a couple of weapons I have so I can reuse them with my other warrior on the other account but I know that will never happen and I don't want it to happen.

Some people doesn' know the bonus of customization. I think that some explain in tutorial must be insert in.
i 've a tormented recurve bow, but i don't customize it.
1) a day maybe i wanna sell it and make/buy something other
2) i never encountered in pve nm or hm some sitution that make me think "why i don't customize my bow?"
3) i use customized bow in pvp.

Only reason i don;t customise many weapons is that I swap them between hero's on my 10 PvE characters, It's somewhat difficult to do this when customised.
Once I have plyed through the BMP a few time i will have customized weapons a plenty for my heroes, and then those i do have such as greens and golds will be customized for the appropriate characters to use

I'll take every bit of an edge I can get. If I'm going to use that weapon...it's customized.

Makes perfect sense to me.

Extra damage points are extra damage points. Why deprive yourself of any? If resale of the weapon is your main concern...sell it then. If you're worried about not being able to share it with your other characters, then craft similar weapons for them - it's not unthinkable.

This thread just reminded me that I never customized my rangers stormbow, which I got cheaper because of purple and req11. And the whole point was to get the skin I wanted put the perfect mods on and customize it for max dmg. at cheaper cost. *scampers off to customizer*
As someone else stated earlier in thread I find it equitable to aquire greens and customize them. The skins arnt always the greatest but its much easier to have the exact mods you want with max dmg by collecting greens for each situation. And most greens are ridiculously cheap now, for example Murakais Reaver, great skin perfect stats, can be found for as cheap as 3k now lol. CUSTOMIZE CHA!

I only customized weapons that I find myself frequently using. The others are usually sold.
And yeah, there isn't much of an excuse for dealing 20% less damage...Except:

Just customize 15^50 weapons
common skins are cheap anyway,
if you're worried about losing value, don't buy them in the first place
